Hidden in Plain Sight

Gus is found, wishes take flight, and September begins through your eyes.

Welcome Back

Another week at Ofrenda

Welcome to another week of The Ofrenda Dispatch!

As we all recover from the massive party that is Afterneath, I want to take a moment to thank all of you for your support over the past year.

Ofrenda opened to visitors in 2025, and since then, we have built more than a reputation for beauty, mystery, and exploration. We have built a community.

Then Afterneath opened almost exactly one year ago, and we learned far more about some of you than we ever expected to know. 😉

We hope you will share our community with your friends so we can continue to grow and spread across the grid like a beautiful little fog of magic and wonder.

Last Week's Photo Challenge

Congratulations, Sarah!

Sarah found a strange little corner of Ofrenda that even I did not know existed, and it is in the Abbey area, where I spend an embarrassing amount of time. Apparently, I need to pay more attention.

Her beautifully framed discovery, hidden among glowing mushrooms, flowers, and overgrown greenery, perfectly captured last week's Strange Little Things theme.

August Gnome Hunt

Gus Has Been Found!

Four determined explorers tracked down Gus during August: Marion, Bondaisy, Katty, and Rob.

Gus was hiding in the Hidden Glen of Memories, tucked away among the trees, flowers, and quiet remnants of another time. It was the perfect hiding place for a gnome whose story was built around echoes, poppies, and the things we carry with us.

The Glen itself feels like a memory, partly preserved, partly overgrown, and waiting quietly for someone to discover it.

Gus was not guarding treasure or causing trouble. He was simply keeping watch over the things that might otherwise be forgotten.

Since all four hunters found him and completed the challenge, each will receive L$500. Rob will also receive the additional L$1,000 grand prize.

Thank you for following the clues, exploring Ofrenda, and finding Gus in the one place where the past never completely disappears.

Hidden Glen of Memories

Discover the Wishing Well

Hidden within the Glen of Memories is one of Ofrenda's quieter interactive secrets: a wishing well made for the words you are ready to release.

Click the well and write your message. It can be a wish, a memory, a confession, or something you simply need to let go. Then watch as your words are carried away on the wind.

Some things are meant to be remembered. Others are meant to be released.

Last Week's Poll

Bring home the haunted mirror

The votes were surprisingly close, but the miniature antique mirror that sometimes reflects the wrong room won with 36 percent.

The tiny jar of fog, mysterious brass key, and clearly labeled wooden box tied for second with 21 percent each. This means several of you looked directly at a box marked DO NOT OPEN and thought, Yes, that seems sensible.

The mechanical bird and porcelain mushroom received no votes. Apparently, occasional chirping at 3 AM was where Ofrenda finally drew the line.

This Week's Poll

What is most likely to lure you off the path at Ofrenda?

A mysterious glowing light

A hidden doorway

Music coming from somewhere unexpected

A hidden spot with interesting animations

A strange object that definitely should not be touched

Nothing. I am already lost.

Vote on Primfeed or in Discord.

Ofrenda Confessions

Some of you still have things to confess.

The service may be gone, but apparently some of you still have things to confess.

Confession Number One

Drunk me confession time, because I completely forgot to do it earlier in the week.

So, I went out drinking with a load of my friends, got very, very drunk, somehow managed to lose all of my friends, and decided that I would walk home.

Managed to walk the completely wrong direction for nearly an hour before I decided, “This is taking too long. Fuck it, I’m going to sleep.”

The next thing I know is that I am being woken up by a ninety year old woman and a paramedic standing over me because I was lying in her flower bed, having made the world’s largest mud angel in her flowers.

Oops.

Oh, and yes, kind of makes me an arse.

Tera: Well. There are bad decisions, and then there is walking in the wrong direction for an hour, giving up, and using a ninety year old woman’s flower bed as a hotel.

I do admire the confidence it takes to think, “This is taking too long,” and decide the obvious solution is to simply sleep wherever you happen to be standing.

Also, yes. You are kind of an arse. But at least you left behind the world’s largest mud angel as a lovely little souvenir.

Confession Number Two

Forgive me, Tera, for I have sinned once more. I went gnome hunting and Gus made me pregnant. Little Gus is out in nine months.

Tera: I have several questions, and I do not want the answer to any of them.

This is exactly why the instructions said to take a photo with the gnome. Apparently, I should have been much more specific.

Congratulations, I suppose. Please do not expect Gus to pay child support. He is unemployed, lives in the woods, and spent the entire month hiding from responsibility.

Have something to confess?

Share a funny story, guilty secret, questionable decision, or harmless confession anonymously. Selected confessions may appear in a future Dispatch, along with whatever commentary Tera feels they deserve.

Until Next Time

Stay curious

That is all for this week. Go make a wish, take a photo, dance beneath the stars, and explore somewhere you have never bothered to look before. Apparently, there are entire corners of Ofrenda even I do not know exist.

Until next time, stay curious and try not to bring home any haunted mirrors. 🌙
