One year ago, Nikki worried nobody would come.
They came.
This weekend Afterneath celebrated its first anniversary, marking twelve months of dark music, strange nights, friendships, relationships, questionable decorations and memories made beneath the mountain. This week we’re looking back at Year One, while elsewhere around Ofrenda five mysterious VHS tapes have gone missing and October is beginning to look considerably less innocent than September.
One year down below
In summer 2025, Nikki searched Second Life for the kind of wild, dark, slightly chaotic club she remembered and could not find it. A few days later, while complaining to Tera and Pris, Tera said: “Why don’t you build it here at Ofrenda?”
On September 27, 2025, Afterneath opened. This weekend it turned one.

We went through the photographs, the DJ lineups, the clouds, the pumpkin, the people and the memories and built a permanent archive of Afterneath’s first year.

Retro’s Lost VHS Tape Hunt
Retro remembers an old television show. Or at least he thinks he does. A host in a jumper and tie. A neighbourhood. Bright colours. Friendly faces. The sort of thing you would watch after school.
Five VHS recordings of the show should have been in an old box. They are not. Somehow, the tapes have ended up scattered around Ofrenda.
Find a tape, click it, recover the footage, and send it to Retro Macchiato (retrowaves). Post proof in the Special Events in Ofrenda Discord channel.
The first person to find each tape wins L$250. There is also a main star somewhere around the sim. The first person to post a photo of themselves with the star wins another L$250. That is L$1,500 total in prizes.
There is one other date worth remembering.

Medea returns to the Adequate Gatsby Monday at 7 PM SLT for another full-album night. One record, beginning to end, in a room built for actually listening.

Eight community-submitted ghost stories still wait through the ruined Abbey and cemetery. Enable Nearby Media, use the shared environment, turn up your sound and follow the lighted path. Touch the images themselves to hear each story’s audio narration.
